Lights for Life 2017

On Wednesday evening December 6th at 6:30PM, all are invited to attend the 23rd annual Lights for Life at Prince County Hospital. During the month of November, the PCH Foundation gathers donations in memory and in honour of loved ones. Those dedications are collected in a keepsake book that is distributed at the event on December 6th. The evening itself is an annual lighting display during which the community gathers at PCH for an evening of song and remembrance. The lighting ceremony is choreographed to music in a touching display with something for everyone.

You can help create this wonderful display of lights by purchasing a light in honour or in memory of someone special and your gift will help provide vital medical equipment for PCH. “This event not only helps the patients of PCH, but it is also an opportunity to honour and remember those we have lost over the years. It has truly become an event that brings the community together.” says Heather Matheson, Managing Director at the PCH Foundation.  “Every dollars counts here at PCH Foundation and we are incredibly grateful to the Lights for Life donors for their support over the past 23 years.”

Gift dedication amounts begin at $10.00 and all of the donations received before November 25th at noon will be entered into a keepsake book that is distributed at the event. Currently, the PCH Foundation is at 50% of 2017 goal of $2.5 million; a large portion of which is needed to upgrade the hospital’s 3 operating rooms. “This event remains an incredible help to the hospital. If Lights for Life is a success this year, it will certainly bring us closer to our goal.”

Returning to the lighting display this year are the Grand Arch, the Snowflakes, the Toy Train, and the Nutcrackers, among many others.   As always, the centerpiece of the display will be the Celebration Tree.  The Credit Unions of Prince County are once again the presenting sponsors. Since 1995, Lights for Life has raised over $3.2 million to support new medical equipment.  Gifts to Lights for Life can be made by calling the Foundation office at (902) 432-2547, donating securely online at www.pchcare.com, or you can visit the Foundation office in the lobby at PCH.
