Prince County Hospital Foundation Celebrates 2025 Success
SUMMERSIDE, PEI – January 27, 2026 – The Prince County Hospital (PCH) Foundation is proud to announce that, thanks to the incredible generosity of donors across Prince Edward Island and beyond, it has officially exceeded the nearly $2.7 million goal for its 2025 Vital Signs campaign.
Among numerous critical medical equipment needs, the successful campaign ensures that PCH will receive a new Fluoroscopy/X-Ray Unit. This vital and highly used equipment is essential for general imaging (X-ray) and is also employed for “video X-rays” (Fluoroscopy) in procedures such as barium swallows, fertility exams, and more. Access to this equipment is crucial for delivering life-changing patient care and maintaining the hospital’s reputation as a centre of excellence.
“Reaching this milestone is a testament to the incredible spirit of Islanders,” says Derek Bondt, President of the PCH Foundation. “Our donors aren’t just contributing money; they are providing essential tools for our doctors, nurses, and healthcare staff to save lives right here at home. As we celebrate the success of 2025, we are already looking ahead to the challenges and opportunities 2026 will bring, with an ambitious campaign on the horizon.”
A Year of Impact: The 2025 campaign was supported by a record-breaking Lights for Life appeal in November, a monumental Grass Roots and Cowboy Boots event in the fall, and the most successful annual mail appeal to date. Contributions from these key initiatives have already been utilised, with several critical pieces of equipment already in place, such as the Vital Signs Machines, Portable Ultrasounds, and the Bariatric Stretchers.
Modernising the Donor Experience: The New Donor Wall
To recognise and thank those who continue to support PCH, the Foundation proudly unveiled a new Donor Recognition Wall in November. Located in the hospital’s main corridor, this bright and visually appealing display honours the community’s enduring support. Featuring names of contributors from 2000 onward, the wall’s design combines a contemporary aesthetic with timeless appeal, reflecting the enduring impact of donors. It serves as a reminder of decades of generosity that continue to shape the future of healthcare on PEI. The PCH Foundation extends its deepest gratitude to every individual, business, and community group that contributed this past year and every year.
