Prince County Hospital Foundation Surpasses 2024 Vital Signs Appeal Goal
Summerside, Prince Edward Island– The Prince County Hospital Foundation is proud to announce that it has surpassed its ambitious 2024 Vital Signs Appeal goal of raising $2,023,700, a significant achievement in supporting the healthcare needs of Islanders. The funds will provide critical new and replacement medical equipment for Prince County Hospital (PCH), enabling the hospital’s staff to continue delivering high-quality care to patients across the island.
As a primary acute healthcare facility, Prince County Hospital serves as a vital resource for residents from every corner of Prince Edward Island. With medical technology constantly evolving, the need to update equipment to the latest standards is essential to ensure that patients receive the best possible care. This year’s Vital Signs Appeal specifically aimed to address the hospital’s greatest needs, including a Chemistry Analyzer for the Laboratory, a Cardiac Ultrasound for Diagnostic Imaging, and Pulmonary Function Testing equipment for Ambulatory Care.
“This is a tremendous achievement, and we are deeply grateful to the community for their overwhelming support,” said Derek Bondt, newly minted president of the PCH Foundation’s volunteer board of directors. “Islanders rely on Prince County Hospital every single day—whether it’s for planned procedures, emergency care, or specialized treatments. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, PCH is now better equipped to meet the healthcare needs of our community, ensuring that physicians, nurses, and staff have access to the most advanced technology when it matters most.”
The successful completion of the 2024 Vital Signs Appeal marks a new chapter for the Prince County Hospital Foundation, demonstrating the unwavering commitment of Islanders to PCH. Every dollar raised will go directly toward the purchase of state-of-the-art medical equipment that is vital for the delivery of critical care.
The Prince County Hospital Foundation extends its sincere thanks to all individuals, businesses, and organizations who contributed to the 2024 campaign, making this milestone possible. Their support is a testament to the strength and spirit of the community and a vital investment in the health and well-being of Islanders for years to come.

Having this new unit will allow us to provide continuous testing when the main chemistry analyzer is down for daily maintenance. Which means no delay in results for patient care.”
